Pennsylvania Bluestone
Pennsylvania Bluestone is a sandstone formed during the Devonian Period (360-380 million years ago) from sediments deposited by ancient river systems in deltaic and near-shore marine environments. It is primarily composed of quartz, with minor feldspars and clay minerals. Its color varies from blue-gray (low oxidation) to brown, tan, and rust (iron oxides) and charcoal/black (carbon-rich material).
