Danby Marble is a metamorphic rock formed approximately 485.4 million years ago from Cambrian to Ordovician aged limestone. It is primarily composed of recrystallized calcite, presenting as a white marble with delicate, consistent darkened gray veins. Occasional green or dark streaks are attributed to minerals like pyrite, chalcopyrite, muscovite, or chlorite.
