Calacatta Borghini

Calacatta Borghini is a classic Italian white marble quarried in the historic Carrara region of Tuscany. It features a pristine, creamy white background with magnificent and often bold, deep grey veining, sometimes with delicate grey feathered lines or hints of soft gold and honey tones. It is a fine-grained white marble, known for its luxurious feel.

Mohs hardness
3-5 (Calacatta marble scores 3-5 on the Mohs hardness scale. Some porcelain versions claim a Mohs hardness of 8).

Marble is porous, so it will absorb water. It is recommended not to let water dry on it and to wipe spills immediately. Porcelain versions have minimal moisture absorption (0.01%).
ASTM spec
Marble is covered by ASTM C503 (Standard Specification for Marble Dimension Stone). ASTM C880 (Standard Test Method for Flexural Strength of Dimension Stone) is also relevant.
