What is the difference in Mohs hardness between marble and quartzite?
On the Mohs scale of mineral hardness, marble typically scores between 3 and 4, making it a relatively soft stone prone to scratching. Quartzite scores much higher, usually around 7, making it harder than granite and highly resistant to scratches from everyday kitchen use.
