How to remove paint from natural stone?
Small amounts of paint can sometimes be carefully scraped off with a razor blade or removed with lacquer thinner. For heavy paint coverage, use a commercial 'heavy liquid' paint stripper that contains caustic soda or lye, but be aware it can etch the stone. Always follow manufacturer instructions, wear protective gear, and avoid acids or flame tools. Oil-based paints may leave oily stains.
